Goodness Growing In The Greenhouse!

IMG_6170[1]

All winter long we’ve updated the website occasionally with news or ideas. The pace of posting matched the pace of winter farming. Now, with spring blossoming all around us, it feels like there is so much to share about Little Village Farm’s awakening and not enough time to share all of it with you!

We have been busy here planting, transplanting and weeding (yes – weeding already). The greenhouse is overflowing with, well – green. It makes it all feel real again, this farming thing.

Check it out!

We happened upon a great deal to design t-shirts and love them! We hope you do to and want to wear one around town.

We attempted to hatch 40 baby chicks only to find that the thermometer in the unit was broken and we cooked them instead, eggs that is, not chicks.  A new batch are in the incubator with the temperature just right, rotating happily every time the motor clicks on.

All the fields are turned, harrowed, and tilled! Corn and peas are planted.

It’s about to get some kind of crazy around here!!

Headed out to pet the tomatoes…
